Mazi Ugwuoha was tragically murdered by suspected Nigerian government agents near his residence in Aba, Abia State, on October 18th, 2024. According to IPOB, Mazi Ugwuoha was targeted for his role in coordinating a peaceful movement advocating for Biafra's independence.
