IPOB's Resolve Hardens: Assassination of Biafra Land Coordinator Will Not Go Unpunished
The Directorate of State (DOS) and the global family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have made a heartbreaking announcement regarding the assassination of Mazi Ikechukwu Ugwuoha, the Biafra Land National Coordinator. Mazi Ugwuoha was tragically murdered by suspected Nigerian government agents near his residence in Aba, Abia State, on October 18th, 2024.
According to IPOB, Mazi Ugwuoha was targeted for his role in coordinating a peaceful movement advocating for Biafra's independence. His assassination is seen as part of a wider effort to instill fear among IPOB members and sympathizers. However, IPOB vows that the fear of death will not deter its mission, declaring that those responsible for this heinous act have "murdered sleep in their eyes."
IPOB's intelligence unit, known as M.Branch, has been tasked with uncovering the identities of those involved in the assassination. The group has vowed to exact revenge on those responsible.
In light of this tragedy, IPOB has urged all Biafrans, Eastern Security Network (ESN) operatives, IPOB volunteers, and coordinators to heighten their security measures and remain steadfast in the struggle. The group assures its supporters that while the Nigerian government and its agents may attempt to provoke a change in IPOB's peaceful approach, the movement will not be swayed.
IPOB also reiterates that while they remain committed to non-violence, the right to self-defense remains paramount. The group warned that those responsible for the murder of Mazi Ugwuoha, especially those who inflicted such trauma on his family by killing him in their presence, will face justice in due time.
In a closing statement, IPOB emphasized that while they mourn the loss of a dedicated and reliable leader, the struggle for Biafra's restoration remains unstoppable. They pay tribute to Mazi Ugwuoha's selfless service and vow that his death will be avenged.
Rest in peace, Comrade Mazi Ikechukwu Ugwuoha. Your service to the Biafran cause will never be forgotten.
