IPOB Declares War on Crystal Meth Producers in Biafraland.
The Directorate of State of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has launched a stern warning to individuals involved in the production and distribution of the dangerous drug Crystal Meth, known locally as Mkpurummiri, within the Southeast. This follows intelligence reports uncovering at least 10 factories manufacturing the illicit substance in Umuaka, Orlu Province, Imo State.
According to IPOB's Intelligence Unit, six individuals who had returned from South Africa are behind this nefarious drug enterprise. These factories, hidden in Umuaka town, operate under the protection of the Nigerian and Imo State governments, along with their security forces, IPOB alleges. It is claimed that these officials are either complicit or directly benefiting from the proceeds of these operations.
Illicit Drug Operations in Orlu Province
IPOB revealed that these criminals use hotels and nightclubs in Owerri to distribute Mkpurummiri to other states such as Lagos, Kano, Rivers, and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The rise in violent crimes in Orlu Province has been linked to these drug dealers, who falsely claim to be part of the Biafran independence movement while engaging in criminal activities.
Accusations Against Government Officials
The separatist group highlighted the paradox of the Orlu region, which remains heavily militarized by Nigerian security forces, yet still serves as the hub for the illicit drug trade. IPOB believes this is due to direct government complicity, alleging that both the Nigerian and Imo State governments are shielding and possibly even co-owning these criminal enterprises.
IPOB's Ultimatum to Drug Cartels
In response to the alarming rise of Mkpurummiri, IPOB issued a public ultimatum to those involved in the trade. The group has identified the individuals behind the production and distribution and has vowed to take drastic measures if operations are not immediately shut down. IPOB warned that they will expose the identities of those responsible and take every necessary step to ensure that these activities are brought to an end.
IPOB's leadership reiterated their commitment to protecting the people of Igboland from the devastating impact of drug addiction, calling upon all Igbo sons and daughters to unite against this menace. They further urged individuals to cease the consumption and distribution of Mkpurummiri, cautioning that anyone caught will be treated as criminals and murderers.
Emma Powerful's Call to Action
Speaking on behalf of IPOB, Comrade Emma Powerful, the group’s Media and Publicity Secretary, urged the public to provide information on the drug cartels and support IPOB’s efforts to dismantle these destructive operations. IPOB stressed the importance of safeguarding the future of Igbo youth and ensuring that drug-related criminality does not take root in the land.
